Cemetery Dance Presents Our New Style of Deluxe Lettered Editions!

As we’ve mentioned a few times over the last year, we’ve been working to address one of the biggest requests we get from collectors: publishing the Lettered Edition at the same time as our Limited Edition of a book. We’re pleased to report we’ve developed a new style of Lettered Edition that will allow us to do just that while creating an even more beautiful special edition. (A shelf of these new Lettered Editions will look amazing, as you can probably guess from the first photos below.)

Essentially, for certain projects (not ALL projects), we’re taking the budget we used to allocate to the traycase production and we are instead devoting those funds to upgrade the materials used in the production of the actual book. So instead of having a traycase, all of the titles produced using this new Lettered Edition style will feature an upgraded leather binding, spine hubs, illustrated or marbled endpapers, and page edges that are hand-dipped in silver or gold gilding (something we’ve only previously done on STEPHEN KING books!). Starting with the next batch, we’re also upgrading the front cover stamping to include unique artwork stamping to make the editions even more unique. Many of these features have previously been exclusive to our high-end special editions and we’re thrilled to be using these techniques on editions that are more affordable to the general collector.

How to tell the difference when ordering:
We are still issuing Lettered Editions with traycases and the product pages will specifically say “Deluxe Traycased Lettered Edition” if the book is traycased. Those volumes will not include the special features of this new style since we’re still producing the traycase.

If the Lettered Edition is of the new style, it will say “Deluxe Lettered Edition” on the product page and under the “Editions” tab it will include information such as “…raised hubs on the spine, custom gilded page edges dipped by hand, and featuring full color illustrated endpapers.” There will be NO mention of a traycase.
