Peter Straub's desire to learn to read at an early age led him to memorize his
comic books and recite them over and over again until he could recognize the
words. He also paid regular visits to the library in search of pirates, soldiers,
detectives and spies and soon earned the reputation as a storyteller, in demand
around campfires and in back yards.
His novel Lost Boy, Lost Girl won the 2003 Bram Stoker Award and the
2003 International Horror Guild Award. His other novels include The Talisman
and Black House (with Stephen King), Ghost Story, Floating Dragon,
In The Night Room, Mr X, and many others. His novels have been translated
into more than 20 languages and won numerous awards.
His first Cemetery Dance book, Sides,
features hard to find and rare non-fiction pieces Straub has penned over the
years.
He lives in New York City with his wife Susan, director of the Read to Me program.
