Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions that don't fall into the books or magazine & comics categories. These are mostly about how to place an order, what to do if you have trouble placing an order, or what you need to do to update/change your address.

I'm having trouble adding an item to my cart. Can you help?

I'm having trouble adding an item to my cart. Can you help?

If you're receiving an "out of stock" message when you attempt to add an item to your cart, please email webmaster@cemeterydance.com with the name of the product.

If you're receiving an error message of any kind when you attempt to add an item to your cart, please email webmaster@cemeterydance.com with the name of the product, your browser type and version (Netscape, Internet Explorer, AOL, Firefox, Safari, etc), and what type of computer you're using (PC or Mac).

Here are some other questions to look over before you need to contact the office:
* If you're just not seeing anything added to your cart after you click ADD TO CART, double-check that you're looking at the "Shopping Cart" section of the RIGHT menu. It should automatically display what you've added to your cart

* If you don't see anything in the "Shopping Cart" section of the RIGHT menu, click on this Basket Link and see if the item are actually in your basket. (It's possible your browser just isn't reloading the page correctly to update the menu on the right.)

* Also, be sure you're entering a QUANTITY for the item you're trying to order. If you leave the quantity at 0, nothing will be added to you cart but the page will reload.

* Do you have your browser set to accept cookies? Click here for instructions for various browsers. Please note: that link will take you to a website not associated with Cemetery Dance Publications.

I'm having trouble checking out. I keep being redirected to the front page of the site. Can you help?

Most times, this happens when you forget to select a SHIPPING OPTION on the Payment Screen. You need to select either US or NON-US shipping before you click on the continue button.

I'm receiving a message about the site not being secure. What does that mean?

Our checkout system features up-to-date security. You should see the URL in your browser address bar change to https:// and the "locked" symbol should appear somewhere in your browser to show the pages are secure. One of our checkout pages sometimes "pulls" content from a regular page on the site, and that occurrence can trigger a warning about the page not being secure. We've been reassured by our web host that the page is secure... the non-secure image is just tricking the broswer into thinking the page isn't secure.

Also, if you go back into the store after starting to checkout, you may receive the non-secure message.

How do you charge shipping to NON-US addresses? Why did you ask me to pay additional shipping when my item shipped?

We calculate and charge shipping based on the weight and destination. Because our shopping cart isn't set-up to do these calculations, we make them at our office via the Post Office's estimations and then manually adjust your order total. If you need a quote in advance, please email order@cemeterydance.com for more information.

If you'd like to avoid shipping fees to your country, we strongly suggest you find a local bookstore to place the order for you. They may have a distributor who can get the items in question.

Are Savings Certificates and Coupon Codes good on everything in the store?

Although each Savings Certificate or Coupon Code may have its own limitations (some are for in-stock Cemetery Dance books only, others are only for forthcoming Cemetery Dance books, etc), they're essentially good on everything except excluded items, which always includes books from other publishers and clothing (since we receive such a small discount on those items) and some other very limited items, which will be marked as such on their product page. Are Savings Certificates and Coupon Codes good for Non-US shipping charges?

No, unfortunately we cannot allow Savings Certificates or Coupon Codes to be applied toward shipping charges for Non-US addresses due to the high fees the post office charges us for these packages.

Can specials and discounts be combined?

Unless we specifically state a special, coupon, certificate, or discount can be combined with other specials, coupons, certificates, and discounts, they cannot be combined.

How do I update my mailing address with you when I move so I don't miss any future issues of the magazine or even my book orders?

It's extremely important that you send us a change of address immediately when you move...because your copies of Cemetery Dance magazine will not be forwarded to you by the post office (they are shipped Bulk Rate), and UPS will continue to deliver your book orders to your old address.

If you are online, sending the change via email is the best way to inform us of your new address (instead of calling the office and leaving the information on our answering machine). Simply email your first and last name and your OLD and NEW address to: info@cemeterydance.com with the subject line "CD Change of Address" and our office staff will change your information in our shipping database. This will change your address in our main database, taking care of all our shipments — magazine, books and comic.

IMPORTANT NOTE #1: We cannot change your address in the ONLINE STORE, so you will need to update that before you place your next order or anything you order will go to the wrong address. Visit your account page if you want to change that address now. (You may need to login first.)

IMPORTANT NOTE #2: We will CONFIRM every Change of Address we receive in our email. If you do not receive a confirmation, please resend your email because we did not receive it the first time and we are not responsible for any lost shipments and we cannot refund any orders lost due to your move if we are not properly notified. If I move and don't send you my new contact information, will you still ship my order?

Well, yes, but the odds of the shipment reaching you are pretty slim. The Post Office will not forward packages over a certain size, and UPS won't attempt to forward them at all. The magazine and comic are shipped 3rd Class Bulk Mail so not only won't they forward to your new address, they won't even be returned to us so we'll never know you didn't receive your issue. It is your responsibility to notify us when you move. See the above question for more information. If you do not send us your new mailing address and contact information, we are not responsible for the loss of your order. We'll do our best to find a way to contact you if your package comes back to us, but ultimately it is your responsibility to contact us. We'll hold your returned shipment as long as we can if it is returned to us, and after we're sure you're not going to get in touch, we'll refund your order, less shipping.

Can I just change my address the next time I place an order?

Unfortunately that will only update your address for future orders. It will not update your address in our shipping database so you'll miss out on anything that ships to your old address.

What is the easiest way to reach someone in the office if I have a question?

The easiest — and fastest — way to reach our office staff is by sending an email. You are, of course, welcome to call the office, but with a customer list of over 15,000 individual book-buyers, we are often tied up on the phone for hours at a time. If you call and reach our answering service, then we are most likely busy on the other phone lines, or in a production meeting, or working in the warehouse. We encourage you to either leave a message or ask your question via email. If you leave a message, someone will return the call, but depending on the volume of calls received, it could be a day or two.

Back in the old days, Richard used to answer each and every call himself...but with 18 years of continued growth and the wide-spreading reach of the Internet, that is no longer possible. Regardless, we still strive to give consistent and personal customer service.

How do I return an item?

Contact order@cemeterydance.com for exact instructions for returning an item. Please include your order number OR as much information as possible about your order (date it was placed, any special offers, etc), along with why you'd like to return the item. If possible, please reply to the order confirmation you received via email when you placed your order. You can return any item within one week of receiving the item if it is still in new condition. If an item is damaged by the shipping company, please contact us for a replacement or refund, whichever is applicable based on the situation. Unless we shipped you the wrong item, we will not refund any shipping costs associated with the order or the return of the item. If ordering the item qualified you for a special offer or bonus item, you may need to return the free item or pay the difference of the special offer. All returns and refunds will be handled at the discretion of Cemetery Dance Publications.

Will my personal information be posted when I write a customer review of a book?

Your posted review will include any information you provide while filling out the Customer Review form for the book you're reviewing, including your name and location.

If I win a contest, will my name be mentioned anywhere.

Yes, your name will be used in any announcements of the winners of the contest, whether it's sponsored by Cemetery Dance or a third party. By entering or participating in any contest, you agree to allow your name to be used in the announcement of the winners and any other promotional activity to follow. If the contest has a specific details page on the site, check that page for specific details when it comes to this question.
