of Dreams (Volume Two)
is now available to be ordered by clicking here!
About the Book:
The Secretary of Dreams combines classic tales of terror
from the mind of Stephen King with the critically acclaimed artwork of Maine
artist Glenn Chadbourne. This unique book displays an incredible and original
blend of King's words with Chadbourne's one-of-a-kind illustrations: text and
artwork brought together to tell these stories in a whole new way.
As you venture into The Secretary of Dreams you'll discover "Home
Delivery," "Jerusalem's Lot," and "The Reach" presented
on beautifully designed oversized pages. These stories are heavily illustrated
with spot artwork, full page illustrations, and even multiple-page art spreads.
Dozens of painstakingly crafted illustrations bring King's characters to life.
Also within this collection are "The Road Virus Heads North," "Rainy
Season," and "Uncle Otto's Truck," which appear for the very
first time in full graphic format as imagined by Chadbourne. Not one word from
King's original manuscripts has been left out. Instead Chadbourne presents the
stories through a variety of techniques: traditional paragraphs of text merged
directly into the artwork, handwritten bursts of dialogue to convey emotion,
and even multiple fonts to match the mood of each scene.
The Secretary of Dreams is a collection of Stephen King's greatest
short stories presented in a way never before imagined. Glenn Chadbourne spent
over two years creating the artwork within these pages, digging deep inside
the text to make each of these classic tales burst off the page. An original
Cemetery Dance Publications publishing event, this deluxe oversized hardcover
edition is the World's First Edition.
There are no other editions planned of this title at this time, but King has
already selected six more stories for a second volume and Chadbourne is hard
at work on the illustrations!

    Lucky Stars

I know I'm a late entry here. But it's not too late for you to buy one of these amazing books. I thank my lucky stars that I not only purchased a gift edition, but I was then truly blessed when I won a signed limited edition in a raffle! (Big plug here for joining raffles, by the way.) Now because I've been doubly blessed, I'm eye-balling Glenn's gorgeous graphics and my crippled hands are crying out for my box of 150 colors of illustrators pens. I'm wanting to color them all in in disgusting shades of "Stephen King green" and "fang-dripping red" and "putrid puke pink." Yes, those are my own names for my color box. My point? This book is a feast for your eyes and imagination, and I will not tire of it for years to come. There are not enough stars in the sky to put in the box above.

I stumbled upon the Cemetery Dance website by chance last year and picked up a copy of 'The Secretary of Dreams' for my girlfriends Christmas gift. She was really floored with the quality of this book. Absolutely loves it! She declined to put it on the shelf with all her other Stephen King first editions, instead opting to place it in a more prominent place in the home in order to make it more visible. Chadbourne's illustrations match King's text extremely well and are right up there with Wrightson and Whelan in my opinion. Keep up the great work! I anxiously await volume II...

Fantastic quality for money in this beautifully produced edition! Love the artwork by Chadbourne, and the way it has brought Mr Kings work to life. Everyone I have shown this volume to has remarked on the production quality, and the collectabilty. Thank you, Cemetery Dance, for another great addition to the collection.

What A Dream of a Book!!!!

I have been collecting King special editions for many years now, and up until my recent experience with Cemetery Dance, I had always put Donald Grant Publishers at the top of my list. My first experience with CD was with the publication of From a Buick Eight by SK. The attention to detail in that book really impressed me, and I especially liked the slipcase the book was housed in. When I got Secretary, I was blown away!!! The slipcase is Gorgeous, and the book is one of the nicest I have seen. I love the use of alternating colored paper for each story. That makes it really easy to find a story if I don't want to read them in order. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this book, because I wasn't that familiar with the artist Chadbourne. I was pleasantly surprised at the design of the stories. His artwork compliments King's stories beautifully. I like the way some of them are simply illustrated stories, while some are told in comic book format. This has become one of my favorite special editions, and CD has now attained the top spot on my list for special edition publishers. I can't wait for Secretary Vol. 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations CD on creating a true work of art within my price range.

I was so excited to get my book, that I just sat there and held it for several hours. I didn't even want to open it at first... As soon as I did, I was so very grateful that I FINALLY got it. I love the stories!!! I read them in one night. Of course as with all of Stephen King books, I will re-read it over & over again. I am never diasppointed in his books. Thank you Cemetary Dance for the chance to get this rare book. I WILL buy the next volumes. Think there are two more... I HOPE.
