The Bram Stoker-winning author has put together eighteen tales, several of which are new to readers, and there&#8217;s not a clunker in the bunch.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The range in this collection is vast, and effortless reading. To detail the individual stories would be to spoil any surprise. What you <em>will<\/em> encounter is a voice in Southern Gothic style unlike any other, comparable to the masters.<\/p>\n<p>Humor is a writing trait which is easily spoken about and attempted but rarely accomplished. Massie nails the light-hearted with aplomb, usually in a \u201csouth of the Mason-Dixon\u201d manner which leaves the reader chuckling, until he or she realizes something deeper and darker is afoot.<\/p>\n<p>This collection is on par with <em>The Fear Report<\/em> and <em>Shadow Dreams<\/em> as the author&#8217;s best collections and should be an integral part of any horror fan&#8217;s library, or for those who simply love great storytelling.<\/p>\n<p>For those new to the game, one can&#8217;t go wrong with reading Massie.
