She is a blind author and writes poetry, urban fantasy, and paranormal. Her debut novel <em>HUNTED: The Immortal\u2019s Kiss<\/em> cowritten with Emberly Lily Summers is available on Amazon. After publishing her poetry book. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shadow Abyss: A Book of Poetry<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, she has had other poems featured in anthologies such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maryland&#8217;s Best Emerging Poets<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Z Publishing and in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fae Thee Well<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Dreampunk Press. Her passion for writing and reading doesn\u2019t stop at sonnets and novels. Her inspiration mostly comes from nature, ancient history, and classic literature. Luna has also looked up to the magnificent work of poets such as Edgar Allen Poe and Emily Dickens. She has also read many works by Shakespeare and fables by The Brothers Grimm. Luna has also been intrigued by the great ancient civilizations. Her collection, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shadows Abyss, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is available now.\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frost is clearly interested in horror. The bulk of this manuscript is horror poetry, with a few dark fantasy leaning poems thrown in for good measure. Oft the poems lean towards the narrative, as in \u201cCreature of the Night,\u201d which begins<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The intoxicating aroma<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of mortal blood<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">awakens animated corpses<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from eternal slumber.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their life support extended<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by each drop of crimson blood<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">torn from the throats of those<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that falls victim to their hypotonic gaze.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This poetry style, prose-sentences edited to poetic lines, is certainly one that is <em>en vogue<\/em>, especially in the speculative community. Frost is tapping into that poetic lineage in these poems, very clearly, and crafting poetic tales of horror within it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The poems, though rooted in myth and legend, read as very contemporary and spirited. For example, \u201cToxic Discomposure\u201d begins with lines that seem to echo the COVID-19 lockdowns, but in a very gothic way<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The world is filled with fear<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">many stays locked inside their homes<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hoping to avoid the dangers<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">avoiding the odds of getting hurt<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some go the extra mile<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">using works of fiction<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">locking themselves inside their minds<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">thinking that worlds of make believe<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are better comforts then reality<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yet, there comes a time<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">when books are closed, and doors are opened<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">when we face what we try so hard to avoid<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with shaky hands we step into the unknown<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the sort of dense poetry, thick with language, that one can expect from L. N. Frost.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Overall, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shadows Abyss<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reads like a solid first collection of horror poetry.\u00a0 There are narratives throughout, couched in heavy language that adds a gravity and weight to the book. Some readers will struggle through these nightmares, and there is a trigger warning because of this, but those that are able and willing to make the exploration will surely find what they\u2019re looking for. The fact that they can do so for free <em><strong>(editor&#8217;s note: if they are Kindle Unlimited subscribers)<\/strong><\/em> before purchasing the book makes this a win-win for both reader and author, and horror fans are encouraged to read and support L.
