<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Everyone, at one point or another, has been afraid of their mother, motherhood or everything in between.\u00a0 Here is an anthology that has us feeing ALL of the emotions!\u00a0 Like with most anthologies and collections, some stories worked for me and others didn\u2019t quite hit the mark.\u00a0 However, the good ones in here are not just good, they\u2019re GREAT!\u00a0 You ever make faces while you\u2019re reading? I do it all the time and I\u2019m sure the people around me on my commutes were wondering what was going on inside my head if they saw me.\u00a0\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

One thing I didn\u2019t particularly care for were the poems strewn throughout.\u00a0 Poetry just isn\u2019t (typically) my thing so for my particular taste, these were unnecessary.\u00a0 I did enjoy that some stories were placed in the \u2018real world\u2019 while others were more of a type of fantasy and magical horrific realism.
\n<\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>This anthology hits on things such as mothers that are made not necessarily by bearing children themselves, and the dynamic of the mother\/daughter relationships hit hard in some entries.\u00a0 Sometimes you DO turn out like your mother and sometimes this is NOT a good thing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>There\u2019s just something about motherhood.\u00a0 As a woman with no children, I am often impressed and have always had great respect for what a woman goes through. Whether it\u2019s through actual child birth, adoption, as pet moms, etc.\u00a0 There\u2019s a responsibility there that\u2019s not for everyone, and these stories particularly show that.<\/u><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

This book delivers something for everyone — whether that is creepy dolls (a definite fear of mine) or cursed lipstick (what??). \u00a0\u00a0There\u2019s light horror to all the bloody, guts and gore you may be looking for.\u00a0 In any case, you\u2019ll find that there\u2019s a story or three in here for YOU.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Favorites include, “Oh, What a Tangled Web,” “The House Mother,” “Special Medicine,” “Mother, Daemon, Ghost,” “The Tired Mom Smoothie,” and my absolute favorite, “Dog Mom.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
