He has also been a Rhysling finalist and Puschart Prize and Best of the Net nominee. He is the author of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mexicans on the Moon: Speculative Poetry from a Possible Future<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fever Dreams of a Parasite<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Echoes and Embers: Speculative Stories,<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sythetic Dawns &amp; Crimson Dusks<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and the SF novel <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Control Theory<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. His newest collection is <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Build-a-Monster Workshop.<\/span><\/i><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Divided into four parts,<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The Build-a-Monster Workshop <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">approaches the idea of monsters from all sorts of speculative angles, whether it be science fiction (\u201cBiology Class Blues\u201d or \u201cAssembling a Father\u201d), ghosts (\u201cThe Girl Who Played by the Tombstones\u201d or \u201cThe Haunted Roadside Motel\u201d), or more traditional monsters from fable and folklore. Not satisfied with that, P\u00e9rez even concocts new monsters of his own, such as \u201cThe Lint Fairy,\u201d a poem which begins:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When he finds you in the night<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">try not to weep<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as he plucks the lint<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">from your bellybutton as you sleep.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ve heard the urban legends,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and didn\u2019t think them true,<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">but now he\u2019s come crawling<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through the window just for you.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is the sort of narrative poetry which permeates this collection, poetry both clever and haunting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a multiple-award winning poet, Pedro Iniguez\u2019s work needs no introduction. He already established himself as a speculative phenom with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mexicans on the Moon: Speculative Poetry from a Possible Future <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Build-a-Monster Workshop <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is yet another packed collection.
