{"id":2194,"date":"2011-05-17T12:01:17","date_gmt":"2011-05-17T18:01:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cemeterydance.com\/extras\/?p=2194"},"modified":"2016-07-12T12:10:48","modified_gmt":"2016-07-12T18:10:48","slug":"full-dark-no-stars-covers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cemeterydance.com\/extras\/full-dark-no-stars-covers\/","title":{"rendered":"The Full Dark, No Stars Covers That Might Have Been"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>The <em>Full Dark, No Stars<\/em> Covers That Might Have Been<br \/>\nby Brian James Freeman<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve read <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cemeterydance.com\/page\/CDP\/PROD\/king05\">Full Dark, No Stars<\/a><\/em> by Stephen King, then you know  this is a book with a really dark heart, which made deciding on a cover image and designing that cover a serious challenge. A lot of collectors never get to see &#8220;behind the scenes&#8221; of the creation of a Limited Edition book, so I thought it would be fun to discuss how the cover artwork and design for our most recent Stephen King book came to be.<\/p>\n<p>First, we needed an artist. After much discussion, and once we rejected the idea of going with an AC\/DC &#8220;Back in Black&#8221; style dust jacket, we hired Tomislav Tikulin to paint the cover. We had been impressed with his work on other projects and we felt he would bring a fresh perspective to this particular Limited Edition.
