There are many things that are integral to Halloween: jack o’ lanterns, ghost stories, Michael Myers and the Great Pumpkin all come to mind. Also, the annual celebration\/parodying\/lampooning of horror that is the “Treehouse of Horror” episodes of “The Simpsons.”<\/p>\n

I’ll admit I’ve kind of lost track of “The Simpsons” over the last several years, but some of their early “Treehouse of Horror” episodes contain segments that are, in my humble opinion, just as worthy of “classic” status as the source material being adapted.<\/p>\n

The first one I want to share is an adaptation of a poem we featured in\u00a0an earlier Halloween Thing<\/a>, although that one was a much more serious-minded take on the material. Here’s “The Raven” as read by James Earl Jones and embodied by Homer and Bart:<\/p>\n
