Water if God Wills It: Spirituality and Religion in the Work of Stephen King
by Poppy Z Brite

About the Book:

“There will be water if God wills it.”
- Roland Deschain, The Dark Tower series

Spirituality and religion are central themes to the works of Stephen King, from the fractured fanaticism of Carrie up through the cosmic conflict of The Stand and IT and the Dark Tower saga, and continuing through King's contemporary works in both subtle and overt forms. The idea of fate, cosmology, redemption, the great adversary, symbols, talismans, even the nature of death itself are all microcosms within the struggle for balance between good and evil that makes up the foundation of King's legacy.

Water if God Wills It is packed full of fascinating insights exploring the wide-ranging threads of spirituality woven throughout King's work, and his life, by one of the long-standing masters of horror--none other than the internationally acclaimed Poppy Z Brite! Brite's first full length book in over a decade, Water if God Wills It is both a long awaited return, and one of the most important insights into the genre-defining efforts of the one and only Stephen King.
