If you could talk to your past self, what would you say? Would you try to right wrongs? Prevent mistakes? What if the fate of the world depended on you preventing those mistakes? What would you tell yourself then? Cancilla's eerie book explores these questions through a series of unnerving journal entries that a high-school girl writes to her future self in a magic book. As fantastical as that sounds, the unnamed girl must follow strict rules when using the book, and there's no time to break them if she wants to get through this ordeal in one piece. By the time the book appears to the heroine, plans to connect reality to a separate, magical plane are already in motion, but there's still a chance to undo some of the impending damage. All the narrator has to do is read carefully and complete a series of seemingly unrelated tasks. But with mistakes being made and time accelerating out of control, readers will race to the end to find out if she will be able to save the world, her family, or even herself.
Booklist

Between visits to Disneyland, Dominick Cancilla writes horror. His wife stoically accepts this; his son is quietly puzzled by it; their many lizards are blissfully unaware of the situation. Over the years, Cancilla has sold dozens of short stories and published one book of philosophy and several books of Disneyland-related humor. Tomorrow’s Journal is his second novel. It has nothing to do with Disneyland.
