It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is a bona fide Halloween classic. But what if it was a horror movie?
Back in 2011, the folks at Funny or Die created a trailer that re-imagined the gentle Charles Schultz masterpiece as a gritty horror flick called Blockhead’s Revenge. I’ll admit, as a huge fan of all things Peanuts, it’s a little hard for me to see these iconic characters portrayed as older, a little naughty and, in the case of good ol’ Charlie Brown, downright creepy. But I have to admit they did a good job of turning the beloved story in on itself, recasting familiar elements (“I got a rock” in particular) in new and disturbing ways.
