A Halloween Thing A Day: Halloween Urban Legends

What better time for urban legends—those unproveable, often unbelievable tales that get passed from generation to generation, surviving despite their inherent absurdity—than Halloween?

The Lineup digs those urban legends, too, and has provided us with a succinct guide to six of the creepiest revolving around our favorite horror holiday. While I would have enjoyed a little more information on each legend, The Lineup’s down-and-dirty list did introduce me to a couple of legends I’d never heard before, including an absolutely horrifying thing called a “spider wig” that literally made my scalp crawl. Check ’em out, and feel free to share your own favorite Halloween urban legend in the comments.
